Athelstan can barely breathe for all the sensations rushing through his body.

"Do I have to - say it again?"

He trusts Ragnar to be gentle.

"I hear and obey," Ragnar says, the grin now splitting his face properly. "But I need to make you ready. Come, lie on your back."

He flips them over, and gently shifts Athelstan around in the comfortable embrace of the large root.

He goes where Ragnar puts him, trying to get his breath back in this brief respite from being pleasured.

Ragnar parts Athelstan's legs, almost reverently, putting his feet beyond the encircling root so it will be easy to remain spread like that.

Ragnar's lucky he's getting words at all.

Ragnar pulls his finger out almost all the way. "I'm going to add another finger now; it might feel a bit odd," he says.

And does so, sliding both of them inside again, with a twist to help.

Ragnar twists his fingers a bit more, wanting to hear that sound again.

He gets it, more than once.

"You - Ragnar - I love you."

If Ragnar's arms weren't around him, his muscle spasm at that could have lifted him clear out of the root hollow, and he cries out.

Ragnar kisses him again. "Is it all right?" he asks, to make sure it's not pain he's crying out from.

"It - it is." Tears are standing in his eyes, despite himself. "I just... never felt this before."
